Golfing in Paradise at Our Lucaya

The Butch Harmon School of Golf

Three-day and one-day golf schools are available to guests of The Westin and Sheraton at Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort. Our professionals will help you understand your game more fully, helping you apply your own unique swing to every phase of the game, the long game and the short game, bunker play, trouble shots, putting and more. They'll also help you focus on course management. Regardless of your level, age or experience the Butch Harmon School of Golf can take your game to an entirely new level. It's a level based on understanding your own unique swing. As Butch Harmon says "Many people play golf, but few truly understand it."

Lucayan Golf Course

This course, created in 1962, is an Audubon-affiliated member of the USGA and The Metropolitan New York Golf Association. The Lucayan Course pits your golf skills against Dick Wilson's mind and the natural wonders of Grand Bahama Island. Testing precision rather than distance, with doglegs, elevated greens and thick stands of tropical foliage. So bring plenty of balls. The tall trees give shade from the sun and other players on the course. There's no tight schedule and no need to rush your round so you can take it easy. With wide target areas off the tee and well-protected elevated greens, it's a great place to enjoy the great game.

Reef Golf Course

It became part of Grand Bahama Island's landscape in October 2000. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in a contemporary links style, requiring a different approach than the Lucayan Course. A strong short game goes a long way on this breathtaking course.

The wide fairways may be a little forgiving but the huge bunkers that protect the greens are not. And the large, level greens may please the eye but their speed will harm your scorecard. Add that with an unpredictable ocean wind and you have yourself a formidable opponent. To top things off Jones brought water into play on 13 of 18 holes. You didn't really expect to avoid water while playing on an island did you?
